A World-leading Observatory

Mauna Kea’s Winter Milky Way stretching from Alpha & Beta Centauri, the Southern Cross, Sirius, Orion, Gemini, and Auriga over the giant telescopes of the UK’s Infrared Telescope, Japan’s Subaru telescope, the Keck twin telescopes and NASA’s Infrared Telescope below a distant Haleakala Crater on Maui. Mauna Kea is one of the best known observing sites on the planet located at the top of Hawaii.
