Letoon Mosaics

Northern stars, from Cassiopeia (top right) to the North Star or Polaris (center) and Big Dipper (at the horizon) are visible in this wide angle image from the ancient sanctuary of Letoon. The world Heritage Site is a complex of temples near the ancient city of Xanthos. Dates back to the late sixth century BC, it was one of the most important religious centers of Lycians in Anatolia. It is now located near Kas in Antalya province of Turkey.
