The 4th of July Alignment

A rare alignment of Saturn (top), Mars, star Regulus, and the young crescent Moon on 4th of July 2008, as seen above Shawnee State Fishing Lake in north of Topeka, Kansas. As noted by the photographer “The pale green dots and streaks are from fireflies, and the orange glow is the town of St. Marys about 12 miles to the west.”
