Heavenly Halo

While preparing for an evening of viewing the planet Mars, high clouds passing by the gibbous moon create a beautiful 22 degree lunar halo. The three brightest stars – Capella, Aldebaran and Betelgeuse – are all framed within, and the Pleiades lies in the west side of this eye-catching ring of light.
