Description

The Milky Way and stars of the Summer Triangle above prehistoric rock art in the remote valley of Teimareh in central Iran. The valley is full of ancient petroglyphs, belong to 4500 to 17000 years ago. With over 20,000 engraved images, the valley is one of the world’s most important petroglyph sites, still largely undiscovered. Here in the foreground the rock art belongs to 12,000-15000 years old. Are some of these mysterious stone age symbols in connection with the starry skies above our ancestors? Click on the second photo to see another nightscape view of Teimareh.
