Full Moon Above Ancient Epidaurus
Description
The Full Flower Moon was rising behind the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus, as viewed from the above of Ancient Epidaurus. I had this composition in my mind for a long time; for about a year. I did try it a couple of times, but at some of them, the conditions weren’t right or the timing was right in order to capture it. Today’s forecast wasn’t the most desirable, there was a lot of dust in the atmosphere amd some high clouds in the East. Finally, I got quite lucky; there weren’t that many clouds and I managed to capture this image that I was dreaming of. At the (right) bottom of the frame, you can spot the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus that was built in the 4th century B.C. -a landmark of the village and the area in general-. Every summer, in the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus is taking place the “Athens & Epidaurus Festival” with concerts and small plays; an interesting combination of history and art.
