Description

One of the most beautiful sunrises I’ve ever seen was at Helmos mountain, in my home country Greece. Being at an altitude of 2340 meters you have a 360° view of the landscape. In this case, as the sun is upon to rise, you’re able to see the earth shadow and the Belt of Venus in the opposite direction of the sun; two very impressive atmospheric phenomena. This time of the day is quite ethereal and peaceful, there isn’t anything to distract you, only the sound of nature. This high-resolution image is a panorama of 12 vertical shots with the 35mm lens. All these beautiful colors and layers in combination with the foreground elements (the Helmos Observatory, the remaining snow at the hill and the low clouds) were what caught my eye and in addition to the beautiful night sky were the reason to love this place.
