Monument Valley Winter Sky
Description
An iconic night view of Monument Valley . In the sky from top left the constellations of Perseus, then Auriga are followed by Gemini and the Twins stars. On the upper right is the Pleiades, then Taurus (note the “V” shaped stars of the bull’s face), then the Majestic constellation Orion and the three stars of Orion’s Belt and finally the lone Sirius on the horizon, the brightest star in the sky.
No visit to the American Southwest is complete without a stop at iconic Monument Valley. Been here many times, but this time took my recent wife for a tour of many of the famous parks I have been photographing for years (second image).
Nikon D750, 24mm lens, 3 part vertical Pano, 20 seconds each, f/1.8, iso 1600
