Galactic Reflections

Mars glows in red, at its brightest, in the sky of a paradise planet. Above a High Sierra lake in California, at 10,000 ft high and far from light pollution, the Milky Way’s bright core appears in all its striking beauty and true color which is not visible to unaided eyes. There are two more planets visible in this 20-second exposure photograph. Jupiter is the bright point on the right and Saturn is visible against the galactic center. See labels in the second image.
