Harmony Between Earth and Sky

Earth moving around his imaginary axis makes the stars moving apparently in a concentric way around the Pole star. My intention was to represent harmony between the concentricity of the tracks left in the sky from the stars with the concentricity of the human building below in the picture. The affinity between the two elements seemed to me very strong, so I left the camera shooting for some hour and after I decided to capture also the human figure that would represent the link between the two elements, between the Earth and the Sky. It is worth writing some notes on the building in the photo. This building is a particular and rare building that can be found in Sicily. It is called “Muradghiu” and probably it dates back to the time of the Norman domination in Sicily (around XI-XII century) or maybe during the feudal age in Sicily (around XV-XVI century). Its purpose was to represent the greatness of the family that owned it and to have astronomic functions (like sundial or astrolabe).

Photo composite of 279 shots with Nikon D800 + Sigma 35mm f/1.4 ART; 277 shots @ 15 sec., f/2.2, ISO 800 for the sky trails, 1 shot @ 15 sec., f2.2, ISO 800 for the pinpoint stars, 1 shot @ 20 sec, f/4, ISO 640 for the ground. All the images are merged with StarStax and Photoshop.
