Description

Watch this video full screen and with your sounds on. As featured on National Geographic News this 8-minute timelapse movie is an effort in search of dark skies in the Austrian Alps. The beauty of night sky is filmed against the growing threat of human-made light pollution, an enormous waist of energy to illuminate the sky instead of the ground. As noted by the photographer “The Alps offer some of the last remote places in western Europe where its still possible to see the beauty of a starry sky. By contrast some other footage of the film show flood lit cities and frequented traffic ways in the tyrol inn-valley with surrounding dark valleys and mountains. While many of the scenes are made from near Innsbruck, Austria, there are also some scenes from Dolomites in Italy, and La Palma, Canary Islands.” The title is the name of the song used for this video, by Soundgarden.
