TWAN exhibitions continue to increase astronomy awareness among the public through the International Year of Astronomy 2009 and beyond.
The program Stars Over Developers Diversified Realty brings innovative arts and education initiatives to customers at shopping centers around the country. The program is being implemented at 24 of Developers Diversifiedâs shopping centers â both small and large markets â across the country to display TWAN exhibition. The exhibit is a collection of stunning photographs showcasing international landmarks such as Yellowstone National Park in the United States, the Parthenon in Greece and magnificent monuments across Asia, all set against the celestial attractions. Together, the 24 Stars Over Developers Diversified Realty properties will serve as the largest exhibition of The World at Night in the United States.
In addition to The World at Night exhibit, each property will incorporate an education element as well as customize the program to best utilize its space and create programming that appeals to its customers, including âDancing Under the Starsâ or âMovies Under the Starsâ or create new supplemental initiatives such as Boy and Girl Scout astronomy badges, a contest to win a trip to space camp, partnering with industry organizations such as the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, science fairs, fashion shows, and childrenâs events such as creating constellations and telescopes.
The World at Night (TWAN) collaborates with worldwide venues for holding major exhibitions and educational events during International Year of Astronomy 2009 and beyond. These exhibitions are meant to enhance the offerings of any museum or public space with eye-catching photographs produced by the TWAN team of specialized photographers.
