Description

From the photographer: “Waning moonrise from Bird Rock, Walkerville South, Victoria, Australia. The image captures electric blue light emitted by bioluminescent plankton on an incoming tide from two directions around the rock stacks. Altair, the brightest star in the constellation Aquila is on image left and Al Nair, the brightest star in the constellation Grus on image right. The green cast in the sky is due to airglow. It was a beautiful night to experience.”

Single-exposure, Canon 60Da, Samyang 14mm lens, f/2.8, ISO-3200, 25s
