Spiraling Kiva

From the photographer: “Star trails above Lowry Kiva at Lowry Pueblo, ~1000 yrs old. All of the light is from illumination of the full moon. This is a composite of ~300 photos. Kivas are subterranean rooms used by modern pueblo Indians for ritual purposes. It is believed they may have been for ceremonial purposes in ancient times as well.”
