The Moon and rays of aurora over the shores of Labrador Sea, Greenland. The statue of Leif Erikson appears in Qassiarsuk settlement, in the southern shores of the country. Leif Erikson (970 – 1020) was a Norseman explorer from Iceland who is regarded as the first European to land in North America nearly 500 years before Christopher Columbus (probably first landed in Newfoundland, Canada). On the attempt to reach new lands he also explored various shores of Greenland and founded the first Norseman colony there. Juan Carlos Casado, Starryearth.com
