Northern Cygnus over Tibet

By: Jeff Dai

Region: Asia

Site: Tibet - China

Date: 2015 October 19

Looks like a volcanic eruption of lava in the sky. The reddish glow of NGC 7000, the North America Nebula, and IC 5070, the Pelican Nebula, set over snow covered peaks of Tibet, China. Bright, hot, supergiant star Deneb lies at right center in this telephoto view. The image was recorded by a modified digital camera and fast lens. The sensitive system captured both planet Earth and deep sky in a relatively short exposure. Jeff Dai
