Jupiter and the Volcano

By: Luc Perrot

Region: Indian Ocean

Site: Reunion Island - France

Spot: Piton de la Fournaise

Date: 2015 February 12

From the photographer: "Piton de la Fournaise is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. In February 2015, a new eruption marveled the sky of Reunion and it was a chance to photograph the show under the beautiful starry sky dominated by dazzling light of Jupiter. The Beehive star cluster (M44) is visible next to Jupiter. "
