A time-exposure image has captured about one hour of the Earth rotation in form of star trails (rotating sky) around the north celestial pole, marked by the north star Polaris. On the Earth, Mt. Damavand cone-shaped volcano (5610 m) is silhouetted by the lights in Haraz Valley, northern Iran. In the foreground lights is the village of Ira in the Alborz Mountains.
