In a clear spring evening of Mediterranean, the Moon and Venus meets above Rhodes; a Greek island located close to southwest of Turkey. In the ancient era, the island was famous for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the World which was destroyed by the 226 BC severe earthquake. The giant statue of Helios, the Greek god of the sun, Helios stood over 30 meters high facing the sailing visitors to Rhodes, making it one of the tallest statues of the ancient world. Today modern bronze deer statues (photographed above) show where the Colossus of Rhodes may have stood. Tamas Ladanyi/
